Assessment - NPQML

The assessment for the NPQML programme involves running an improvement project in a team which lasts at least two terms. This project must be aimed at improving pupil progress and the capability of your team.

During your programme you will build a portfolio demonstrating how your project meets the assessment criteria. This will be submitted at the end of your programme. Our support and guidance will help you achieve this.

Once submitted, your work will be assessed against the Department for Education (DfE) criteria for the award of your NPQML. The cost of NPQML only is £750.

Assessment - NPQML with 20 Masters' credits

Once submitted, your NPQML work will be assessed against the Department for Education (DfE) criteria for the award of your NPQML, and against Newcastle University Masters' level criteria for the award of your Masters' credits.

NPQML with 20 Masters' credits incurs an additional cost of £200*. If you achieve the Masters' credits you can subsequently complete the Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Educational Leadership at Newcastle University next academic year. The cost of the remaining module of the PGCert is £1500*.

*This cost is for 2018/19, it may change in future years
